Rumpelstiltskin - cuento en inglés
"Rumpelstiltskin" es un cuento de hadas popular que ha sido transmitido oralmente y adaptado en numerosas formas a lo largo de los siglos. La versión más conocida fue recopilada por los Hermanos Grimm en su colección de cuentos de hadas. La historia se centra en un enano misterioso que ayuda a una joven a hilar oro a cambio de algo muy valioso para ella.
La figura de Rumpelstiltskin también se ha convertido en un personaje recurrente en la literatura y la cultura popular, representando a menudo a un ser astuto y misterioso. Once upon a time, in a distant kingdom, there was a miller who told many lies. One day, the miller lied to the king, telling him that his daughter, a very beautiful young woman, could spin straw into gold. Intrigued by this skill, the king took the miller's daughter to his castle and ordered her to spin straw into gold, threatening her with death if she failed.
The poor young woman was scared because she didn't know how to spin straw into gold. She sat in the room, sad and worried, not knowing what to do. Then, suddenly, a mysterious dwarf appeared.
The dwarf said to the young woman, "Hello, dear. I have come to help you. I will help you spin this straw into gold, but in return, you must give me something very valuable to you."
The young woman, desperate to fulfill the king's command, accepted the dwarf's offer. Then, the dwarf began to spin the straw into gold with his magical hands, turning it into shining golden strands. The room lit up with a golden glow as the dwarf worked his magic.
When the king returned and saw all the gold, he was impressed. But he also became greedier and asked the young woman to spin even more straw into gold. Once again, the dwarf appeared and helped her, but this time he asked for an even greater payment.
On the third night, the king insisted that the young woman spin a mountain of straw into gold. The young woman, feeling desperate, accepted the dwarf's help once again. But this time, the dwarf said, "This is the last time I will help you. In return, I want something very valuable: your first child when it is born."
The young woman, frightened by this demand, agreed without thinking of the consequences. But when her child was born, she regretted making that deal. The dwarf appeared to take the baby, but the young woman cried and begged for forgiveness.
Then, the dwarf gave the young woman a chance. He told her that if she could guess his name within three days, he would return her child. The young woman, filled with hope, began to search everywhere for the dwarf's name.
Finally, on the last day, a messenger from the kingdom told the young woman that he had heard the dwarf singing his name: Rumpelstiltskin! The young woman, filled with joy, awaited the dwarf's arrival.
When Rumpelstiltskin appeared, the young woman shouted, "I know you, Rumpelstiltskin! That's your name!" The dwarf, furious and ashamed of being discovered, ran away, splitting in half and disappearing forever.
And so, the young woman and her child lived happily ever after, learning that lies are never the right path and that truth and bravery will always prevail. And the moral of this story, dear children, is that honesty and cleverness are more valuable than any mountain of gold.

Había una vez, en un lejano reino, una molinera que mentía mucho. Un día, la molinera mintió al rey diciéndole que su hija, una joven muy hermosa, podía hilar paja en oro.
