A long, long time ago, there were two giants who ruled the world. These giants were called Titans Cronus and Rhea. They had five children: Demeter, Hestia, Hera, Hades, and Poseidon. But Cronus was afraid that one of them would steal his throne. One day, he decided to swallow them all, to keep them from stealing his throne. Cronus: ‘You are in my belly now. You can't steal my throne anymore.’ Soon after, Rhea gave birth to a baby boy. Rhea: ‘You will be called: Zeus.’ Cronus: ‘I will swallow you too.’ Cronus declared, but Rhea had a plan to keep little Zeus safe. In Rhea's plan, she used a rock and asked the soldiers for help. Rhea: ‘I will dress this rock like a baby, so Cronus swallows it and not Zeus.’ So Rhea gave the rock to Cronus, and he swallowed it in one second. Rhea: ‘I will send Zeus far away. Soldiers make noise, so Cronus doesn't hear Little Zeus cry.’ So with the help of the soldiers, Rhea sent Little Zeus to live in a cave, that was far away. There, he grew up with Amalthea, the goat, until he was old enough to go and save his brothers and sisters. Zeus prepared a special drink. Zeus: ‘Cronus, drink this!’ Right then, Cronus threw up his children, and the rock! And as a reward, for saving his brothers and sisters, Zeus got the gift to control thunder and lightning.
