Rapunzel - cuento en inglés

"Rapunzel" es un cuento de hadas que se originó en la tradición oral alemana y fue recopilado por los hermanos Grimm en el siglo XIX. La historia sigue a una joven llamada Rapunzel, quien es encerrada en una torre por una malvada bruja llamada Gothel. Rapunzel tiene un cabello largo y hermoso que Gothel usa para subir a la torre. Once upon a time, in a distant kingdom, there was a beautiful couple who had been waiting for a baby for a long time. One day, the wife craved a strange plant called rapunzel, which grew in the garden of an evil witch named Gothel. The wife's husband, desperate to satisfy her craving, stole some rapunzel leaves from Gothel's garden.

Gothel discovered the theft and, furious, demanded that the couple give her their baby as punishment. Fearful of the witch's reprisals, the couple handed over their newborn daughter, whom they named Rapunzel, to Gothel. The witch took Rapunzel to a tower in the middle of the forest and raised her as her own daughter.

Years passed, and Rapunzel grew into a beautiful young woman with golden, shining hair that grew endlessly. Gothel, jealous of Rapunzel's beauty, kept her locked in the tower, far from the outside world.

One day, as she sang from the tower window, her sweet voice reached the ears of a handsome prince passing through the forest. Intrigued by the melody, the prince followed the sound until he reached Rapunzel's tower. "Hello! Who's there?" asked Rapunzel, surprised.

"It's me, a prince who has been captivated by your beautiful voice," replied the prince kindly. "Would you mind lowering your long braid so I can climb up and meet you?"

Excited by the unexpected visit, Rapunzel let down her braid through the window, and the prince climbed up to the top of the tower. There, the two instantly fell in love and spent hours chatting and laughing together.

However, Gothel discovered Rapunzel's secret and, enraged, cut off her long braid and banished her to a distant place. Desperate to find his beloved, the prince searched the kingdom until he finally found her.

Together, they escaped from Gothel's clutches and returned to the kingdom, where they married and lived happily ever after.

Había una vez, en un reino lejano, una hermosa pareja que había estado esperando un bebé durante mucho tiempo.
